For $7.99 a month, you can get free two day shipping, tons of videos, and lots of ebooks to borrow for your Kindle. Amazon is currently testing this new program and should be released within the next month.
Currently Amazon Prime is around $79.99 for a full years subscription. If you decide to go with the monthly plan, you will be paying around $99.99 a year. The company is really trying to compete against Netflix and Hulu on the low monthly price model. If you are participating in the Amazon ecosystem, this is a fairly solid deal.
