Barnes and Noble has been on a rampage in the UK, locking in John Lewis, Argos, the leading academic bookseller Blackwell’s, and award-winning independent bookstore Foyles. Today B&N announced a new partnership with Dixons, which oversees PC World and Currys.
Currys and PC World will feature Barnes & Noble’s NOOK products in over 600 stores across the country and online. They will offer the NOOK Simple Touch and NOOK Simple Touch with GlowLight. Staff will be trained to give customers an overview of what the NOOK line is all about and allow them hands-on time with the units before they buy them.
“We are very excited to work with a company that, just like Barnes & Noble, puts its customers at the forefront of its business,” said Jamie Iannone, President of Digital Products at Barnes & Noble. “We look forward to bringing our highly sought-after line of NOOK reading devices and content to PC World and Currys customers this autumn.”
Barnes and Noble is aggressively expanding outside of the USA for the first time this October. The company is doing its very best to ensure that the first major debut of e-readers and ebooks gets into as many retail spaces as possible. They know that having your products visible, for people to play with, is essential.
