Dasung has reported that the Paperlike E-paper secondary computer monitor is completely sold out. It remains to be seen if they will have more stock in the future, but it is very unlikely. The company is instead focusing on their new 13.3 inch e-reader that will have the ability to function as a secondary display via Bluetooth.
Little is known about the new 13.3 inch E Ink Carta e-reader that Dasung currently has in development. It will feature a resolution of 2200 x 1650 pixels and 207 PPI. There is also speculation that it will have a HDMI port, allowing you to connect it to your PC and be able to use it as a external monitor. Dasung has also promised that this product will have two different operating systems, Android and Windows 10. How exactly they intend on giving a fluid Windows 10 experience on an e-reader remains to be seen.
The Paperlike has been available for about a year and the company has sold units to over 50 different countries. We reviewed this unit with Windows 10 last year and could never get it to work completely with the drivers that were included in the box. Many users who ended up getting it to work were pleased with it, but wished it had a front-lite display so they could use it at night.
