While her books are still widely popular in print, four of author S.E. Hinton’s titles will now be available in digital format, thanks to ebook-only publisher Diversion Books. Based in New York, Diversion’s purpose is to make worthy projects available as ebooks while also publishing back list books for devices.
The four titles, Tex, Rumble Fish, Taming the Star Runner, and Some of Tim’s Stories, will be released today as ebooks for the first time.
“After making a name for herself at the age of 16 with The Outsiders, S.E. Hinton continued to write coming-of-age stories that have touched readers for decades,” stated a Diversion press release. “As each new generation discovers her work, they continue to see themselves in her stories. Hinton’s protagonists often struggle with defining their identities, the devastating effects of drugs and violence, and making their way in a world where the odds are stacked against them. These themes ring just as true today as they did when they were first written.”
To celebrate that launch, Diversion Books will be hosting a Twitter chat with S.E. Hinton tomorrow night beginning at 10pm ET under the hashtag #hintonchat. The author, who is already very active via Twitter, will talk to fans, answer questions, and host a giveaway of several of the new ebooks during the hour-long event.
Hinton’s books are well-loved for their universal appeal to audiences of diverse backgrounds and demographics and for their timeless coming-of-age themes. Her works are still mainstays of young adult fiction due to her ability to speak to a broader reach of readers.
