Free Coffee at Barnes and Noble just by showing them an E-Book

June 16, 2010 By Michael Kozlowski 6 Comments

Barnes and Noble coffee

Barnes and Noble is offering free coffee via their in house Starbucks, if you have a Nook or various other Devices in the store, as part of their new program to promote their E-Reader!

Although the Promotion period is limited, if you show a Barnes & Noble cafe barista an open e-book on any device, such as the Barnes and Noble Nook you will get one free tall cup of coffee!

Although this incentive is not only aimed at Nook owners but if you have ag with iPads, iPhones, iPod touch, BlackBerries, MAC computer, or any other device that is capable of runing the Barnes and Noble Bookstore app you can get the coffee as well!

Barnes and Noble has recently launched a series of incentives to lure electronic owners of digital content a way to still visit their favorite store and maybe buy some impulse buys!

Last month Barnes and Noble rolled out a firmware update for the Nook that allowed you to read any book in their Online Book store for up to an hour a day, while in the physical store! This promotion was called “More in Store”

There are also exclusive “More in Store” incentives every month, such as directors notes on feature films, custom essays written by literary masters and more!

Barnes and Noble is certainly doing all of the right things, to bring Digital Content to people in the stores, and they seem be the only ones doing this so far. One has to wonder if Indigo and Chapters will do something akin to this, with their Kobo E-Reader.

I've seen the and messed with the Nook. While I do feel a little bombarded by the salesperson at Barnes & Noble, it is quite an awesome gadget. Not sure if a free cup of coffee would motivate me to spend $300 on one… but it might.

Well they did reduce the price on the nook from 259 to 199.00 2 days ago! 🙂

Letting you preview a book for an hour is sheer genius. I think I will download this app just to get some free coffee!
