Welcome to another Good e-Reader Video Review! In todays review we take a look at the new Amazon Kindle 2 Graphite edition WIFI! This is the latest e-reader from Amazon and is sold out everywhere! This is the new entry level e-reader that will set you back only $139 and competes directly against the new Barnes and Noble Nook WI-FI and the Kobo E-Reader!
The new Kindle WIFI is certainly a step in the right direction! It is Amazons lightest Kindle to date. The page refreshing when you turn pages while reading ebooks is the quickest we have seen in an e-reader in quite some time! The unit itself feels really light and weighs next to nothing in your hand. Other e-readers can feel heavy the longer you read them, this one, i could hold it all day. Although this e-reader is much akin to the Kindle 2, maintaining its 6 inch screen and full QWERTY keyboard, its 21% smaller.
The battery life in this unit has been jacked up to the max, you can seriously never turn it off and do constant reading for a month and not run out of juice! Great for holidays, and if you are someone like me, and forget to turn a device off. The one nice thing about this device, is that it is bundled with some great little features such as a web-browser so you can check email on services like yahoo or gmail, no built in Microsoft Exchange though, oh well, a guy can dream.
As soon as you register your device with Amazon you can get the latest firmware updates, that give you the ability to play games, tweet or facebook passages from books, which makes it really nice to be able to share a memorable quote with others.
In short, i LOVE this new e-reader! I have played with all of the interations of the Kindle since the first one came out all these years ago. This one certainly gives you a BIG BANG for your buck. If you are looking for an entry level e-reader and have to choose between a Kobo, Nook WIFI or say the new Jetbook Mini, I would go with this one.
