The Kobo Aura One e-Reader is rated IPX8 for waterproofing, so it can be immersed in up to two 6.5 feet of water for up to one hour. When the e-reader is completely submerged in water it has limited functionality. You cannot turn the pages of an e-book or access anything that relies on the touchscreen. Once you take it out of the water the touchscreen functionality returns.
