Here is some interesting news for customers who live in Canada, and have the Kobo e-Reader, or the new Kobo Wireless. You can now shop for ebooks at one of Chapters Kiosk Stations, in store.
Chapters quietly ushered in this new upgrade to their kiosk system without any sign of a press release or any official word. While visiting a local Chapters Book store in Vancouver, British Columbia officials told us they just finished installing an upgrade to their kiosk. The Chapters Kiosk in the past has allowed customers to order books, Kobo e-readers and even the new Kobo Wireless was available for order months in advance.
This upgrade now allows users to order ebooks and shop for them on their Kiosk system and have them instantly sent to your Kobo account, so you can access them with your Kobo Wireless or other devices that you have a Kobo Application for, such as Blackberry, Android, Apple and others.
In order to use this system you must have an existing Kobo account, and a valid credit card to make the purchases.
This is a great move by a book store to include ebook shoppers into the physical location and get people whom have e-readers participating in the store culture. You will also get helpful support from some of the trained staff they have, in case you have any problems shopping or purchasing.
