The Kobo Touch received its second major firmware update since the official launch and adds some interesting new features that are sure to impress.
The e-reader community has been petitioning Kobo and the company has been listening and we now have many great new options to make the Touch e-Reader even more relevant then before. First of all one of the new changes allows users to access the dictionary with books that you have loaded in yourself (sideloaded.)
You can also share awards that you earn with Reading Life with your friends on Facebook, you can also share book passages as well. Another great feature was eliminating some of the page numbers that appeared on the bottom right hand corner when you loaded in your own ebooks.
Kobo has just issued a new version of its Desktop Manager so we recommend loading that up and plugging in your Kobo to initiate the firmware update. If anything goes wrong you can manually load in the update HERE.
We spoke with Kobo today about features they are implementing in their next build and they mentioned some new enhancements coming soon. In the next update we will have the ability to highlight text and send to Facebook books that you loaded in yourself and did not purchase from Kobo.
