Amazon just released a new application for the iOS platform that will seek to capitalize on the upcoming school year. Officially named Amazon Student, it allows diligent young scholars to trade used textbooks, electronics, videos, games, and more! What do you get in return for your old stuff? Amazon will be providing Gift Cards to be used for whatever you want from the website.
One of the best aspects of this new application is the ability to scan bar-codes from textbooks you find in the student bookstore. You can then compare the prices on the new Amazon Textbook rental system and get some solid savings.
Amazon has been busy lately in the development scene and the Amazon Student App is a culmination of the company’s recent effort to launch their textbook rental system. Last week they also released their new Amazon Cloud Reader, which lets you read books on many different web browsers and iOS devices.
