Remarkable is going to be increasing the prices of the Remarkable Paper Pro and the Remarkable 2 in the United States next month. The company has emailed their customers letting them know about the whole situation.  Suffice to say, Remarkable manufacturers their hardware in Vietnam and next month there is a tax loophole that is being closed and tariffs will drive up costs for customers.

The company wrote the following via email to customers “We’d like to give you a heads-up about changes coming to our prices in the US next month. Due to increased costs, we’ve made the touch decision to raise our prices, starting in May. We’ll share updated pricing soon. Until then, our prices will stay the same. So if you’ve been on the fence about buying a new folio or Marker, upgrading to Remarkable Paper Pro, or treating someone to a paper tablet, now’s the time.”

Remarkable has not stated how much the prices will be increasing. They said they will announce new pricing towards the end of April. I would not be surprised if devices cost $100 to $200 more. Accessories are kept low, such as cases and styluses. When buying a new tablet, customers often will spurge on a leather case a Marker Plus. However, accessories will not be immune to the taxes, so prices on these should see a jump of 50%.
