The Kindle Oasis is Out of Stock – New Model Incoming?

They should use this opportunity to make their high end model larger…in order to give more wiggle room to improve the other models.

Amazon is ruthless about cutting products that don’t perform in the market. Kindle DX, Fire HDX and FirePhone all met with untimely deaths unmarked by a death notice; they just disappeared.

Oasis will probably be added to that list and, with it, high-priced e-readers from Amazon. Maybe not but this device and its price-point fits the pattern.

So, can we expect some whiz-bang new product loaded with cool new tech features from Amazon? Uh, no. Take a look at their tablet offerings: Cheap, derivative tech with no innovation whatsoever … *despite* having previously offered top-of-the-line features. Again, who knows but Amazon is all about making money NOT making advanced tech and if the market doesn’t buy the (sometimes questionable, like the Oasis) advances that they *do* offer, it’s off to the graveyard for that tech and back to basics.

Ooooh, so do we anticipate a fire sale, a la the Fire Phone? I’d love to get this for < $150.

it boggles my mind Amazon refuses to integrate audible into their e-readers.

Make an Oasis with a couple inches larger screen, Amazon, for my aging eyes.

By the way,do you approximately know when it will be released ? I am just stuck between getting this Kindle or waiting more to get the new one.

Yet no evidence was provided to support your claim aside from the fact that, depending on perspective, soon could be in 12 years and limited number could be 42 billion units.
Come on, you only showed us the Kingle Configurator page and you are telling us that Configurator page showed “limited number”?

It is back in stock. I just saw it just now but only in black and only in the more expensive 3G
