Sony is giving people another reason to pick up the PRS-T2 e-Reader with the launch of the new Readers Book Club. Each month the company will feature a Book of the Month for book clubbers to read and discuss. Readers can participate in LIVE chats via Facebook and Twitter with each author, access bonus material, and enter for a chance to become a VIP member to attend an in-person event with Michael Connelly.
The first book that will kick off the launch event takes place on November 28th with Laini Taylor’s Daughter of Smoke and Bone. The next book is Flight Behavior by Barbra Kingsolver on January 16th, followed by The Black Box by Michael Connelly on February 16.
This is a great move for Sony to give people another reason to pick up one of its e-readers or tablets. Unfortunately, Sony is not offering discounts on any of the books that are featured in the Book of Month, nor are they getting authors to participate in the events. Still, this is a unique thing that they are doing that will appeal to people who want to be more social about the books they are reading and don’t belong to an established book club.
