As the month of April winds down, children’s interactive app book publisher iStoryTime took stock of how its previous free promotion for Autism Awareness Month of the bestselling Meet Biscuit ebook fared in honor of children on the autism spectrum. The developers of award-winning children’s content were so pleased with the response to their giveaway that they have decided to make another popular educational title available to the public in honor of these very special kids.
“Children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) particularly need to be taught in a way where they can literally touch the words and watch what the characters do when under their control,” said Gary James of Apps for Children With Special Needs (A4CWSN) in a press release from iStoryTime. “Apps on an iPad provide a huge benefit, allowing a match to be made between the pace of reading and interacting that works for an ASD child’s unique style and needs. Apps published by iStoryTime allowed my child to look at books differently and interact with them in a whole new way.”
For this second promotion, iStoryTime is pleased to make its popular learning-through-music title Wee Sing & Learn ABC available for free. Wee Sing has sold over 60 million copies in its other forms, which include albums, books, and videos, and now iStoryTime has brought the same technology that makes its other interactive ebooks so popular to this work as well.
“The interactive graphics, narration, and music in this app will enhance their language development, listening skills, and retention in such a fun way,” said Susan Nipp, co-creator of Wee Sing. Pam Beall, fellow creator behind the series, adds, “The Wee Sing & Learn ABC app effectively teaches letters and language through the use of music along with charming animation and genuine sounds to explore.”
As with so many of its other popular titles, the creators incorporated features like a read-aloud narration, explore function, and Play Along add-on into the Wee Sing & Learn ABC app. The app will be available for free between Wednesday and Sunday in the iTunes store.
