ReMarkable just unveiled a brand new system that converts handwritten text into standardized typed text. The new writing engine just works in the notes app, not PDF files or ebooks. For the best results, before you go about converting your text, you should specify which language your notes are written in through the Settings page. The writing slate currently support over 30 languages including different types of English, Slovak, and Icelandic to name a few!
The way the reMarkable handles PDFs has been completely revamped in this latest update, improving the handling and export of your documents in several key ways:
- Imported PDF’s and Ebooks now retain their original quality after export.
- In most cases, the size of exported documents has been significantly reduced so you can share and collaborate on documents much more seamlessly than before.
- The quality and accuracy of exported drawings, annotations, and handwritten text have been significantly increased.
- Document background templates are now using true scalable vector graphics for improved visual clarity.
