Amazon has released a new software update for the 10th and 11th Generation Kindle e-readers, including the Kindle Scribe. The 5.16.10.0.1 update primarily applies to the reading lists. Your Reading Lists is now Your Lists. Your Lists now show the books you saved from your Amazon lists. To find your samples, use the Samples filter in your Library. Amazon has also added performance improvements, bug fixes, and other general enhancements.
This update came out in late July and was the first since May. Amazon is prioritizing the Kindle Scribe heavily; they tend to release firmware updates virtually every month. This is because the Kindle e-reader is in a good place, stable, and performs well for most users. The Scribe, on the other hand, is the first e-notebook, and obviously, new features and enhancements help it compete better against the Remarkable, Onyx Boox and Supernote.
Users can expect the update to become available anytime in the next few weeks. Amazon does not push updates all at once, as Apple does. If you can’t wait, you can visit the Kindle firmware page. Download the update file to your MAC or PC, plug in the Kindle via the USB file, copy the file to the root directory, unplug the Kindle, reboot it, and the update will install.
