The third generation Kindle Oasis is shipping out this week and on July 24th, anyone that pre-ordered one will have it delivered. The big selling point behind this new model is the 25 LED lights and half of those are amber, for the new glowlight system. This is the first Kindle ever with a color temperature screen that can be controlled automatically with the ambient light sensor, manually adjusted or controlled by the time of day, based on your timezone.
The Oasis 3 has a 7 inch screen and 300 PPI. It is considered Amazons flagship e-reader and is the only model that has manual page turn keys. When you are reading an ebook you can disable the touchscreen completely and only turn the pages with the buttons, which is useful if you are only holding the e-reader with one hand. The entire UI, page turns and PDF experience is accelerated due to the Freescale IMX7 dual core processor.
Good e-Reader has conducted an extensive unboxing and video review and our full written review will be posted when the Kindle Oasis 3 is released on July 24th. If you live in a country where this unit is not available, you can purchase it from the Good e-Reader Store.
