The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite 4 e-reader is completely sold out on the US Amazon website. The soonest every single configuration will be available is June 16th. This includes the 8GB and 32GB storage variants, with/without Special Offers. This is the first time this year that the Paperwhite cannot be purchased at all.
Amazon is selling lots of e-readers since the global pandemic startarted. Many people are going with Kindles because ebooks can be purchased and instantly downloaded. The main reason for this is because the shipment of hardcover and paperback books were taking 3-4 weeks to be sent out, because Amazon put a priority on household goods and medical supplies.
The only models that are available right now are the Kindle Oasis and the Kindle Basic, which is actually on sale. The regular price is $89.99, but with a 33% savings, can be yours for $59.99. Likely Amazon discontinued the base model so people have something to buy, now that the Paperwhite is MIA.
