Amazon has announced that the Kindle will receive a new firmware update, that will give users new features in the font menu system. Version 5.12.4 is available now, but the new features will not be fully implemented for a couple of weeks. The big selling point behind this update is that it now makes it easier to access all font, layout and reading options without leaving your book.
Here are some other new features
- Options to control features like “Popular Highlights”, “Word Wise”, and “PinYin” moved to the Aa menu.
- Contrast setting with 5 choices: -2, -1, 0, 1, 2.
- Set the cover of the title you are reading to appear on your lock screen.
The feature I am most excited about is being able to change your lockscreen with the cover art of the ebook you are currently reading. It is about time that users have some flexibility and control in this department.
