Amazon just dramatically reduced the cost on the Kindle Paperwhite and entry level Kindle Basic, to Black Friday prices. The Paperwhites normal price is $119 and has received a discount of $45 and is now available for $84.99. This model is waterproof and has 2x the internal storage. The Kindle Basic with front-light and a high resolution display normal price is $89 and has been discounted by $30 and is now available for $59.99.
If you have been waiting for a Kindle sale to upgrade from a previous generation model to the latest and greatest, now is the time. Amazon seldom discounts their new models by this amount, they do it a few times a year, such as Prime Day and Black Friday.
It remains to be seen if Amazon is trying to clear inventory for new models that will be released later this year.
