Remember the $35 tablet that an Indian company had come out with. Well here is one more tablet in the ultra low price bracket and as per the latest tablet PC news, the new low cost tablet device will cost $50 and it’s from another Indian company named Allgo Embedded Systems. So the new tablet won’t compete with the $35 tablet but can give it company. Though at such an affordable price, buyers sure won’t mind shelling out a few bucks more for a tablet device if it’s better put together and come with more enticing features.
Named “Stamp,” the tablet has a 7 inch 800×480 pixel resistive touchscreen and will run either the Android or Linux operating system.
Also, the $50 price is what it took to build just one prototype. Retail price could be even higher if not ordered in bulk. The company though mentions the $50 price tag can be maintained for a production run of 10,000 units while the price can be brought down by $10 if a million units of the tablet are produced and $45 if a lac units of the Stamp is produced .
K. Srinivasan, founder of the Bangalore based company Allgo revealed, “We have developed the prototype for which the material costs are $35 and are currently in talks with manufacturers”.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
