Taiwan based Catcher Technologies has just received an order from Amazon to supply the chassis for the new model. Digitimes is reporting that the units should be shipping sometime in the next few months. There is no word on the exact size of the chassis but this information should come out as the plant begins to manufacture the bodies of the device.
The rumor right now is the next version of the Kindle Fire will be a 10 inch display featuring a quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 chip-set. It would make sense for Amazon to release a larger screen model to separate themselves from other 7 inch devices on the market, like the Nook Tablet and Kobo Vox. It would also help the company compete against the Apple iPad.
