The NT-K tablet PC from the Spanish manufacturer Nuevas Tecnologías y Energías Catalá is one of the many tablet PCs that Apple did not like the look and feel of. So much that it had set out on a legal campaign to block its sales. However, Apple’s legal battle against other tablet manufacturers like Samsung all round the globe has been a mix of both victory and losses so far. Like the California based company had managed to block the sale of NT-K tablets in response to which the Spanish manufacturer had filed an appeal and has also won the judgment in its favor. Buoyed by the success, the company is now coming after Apple seeking damages. The Spanish company is also pursuing an antitrust complaint against Apple on the grounds of abusive anti-competitive behavior.
What makes the case even more interesting is the fact that Apple had also initiated criminal charges against the Spanish company though the judge has subsequently dismissed it for the lack of “sufficient justification” to press for criminal charges against the little known company.
He makers of NT-K has stated that there are many other companies too that have found themselves at the receiving end of Apple’s ire but have not shown the will to fight their cases and given up enroute. It is purely based on merit that Apple has been winning the cases till now across the globe based on their statement that their device has been copied by others. Apple has already started proceedings against a little known German company named JAY-tech.
Apple has however scored major victories against its more illustrous rival Samsung and has been successful in getting its Galaxy Tab 10.1 and Tab 7.7 banned. However, as regards its battle with Nuevas Tecnologías y Energías Catalá, the Spanish company is certainly in an enviable position as not only has it pulled off a major victory against a tech giant several times its size but has also got a lot of publicity that would have cost it a lot if it had set out to achieve on its own.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
