That’s a substantial figure by any measure, a figure that any manufacturer of consumer electronics would dream of achieving. What makes this all the more special is that the 25 million sales mark has been reached in just 14 months since the first iPad went on sale. This also makes the iPad the first mass produced tablet PC in the world, thereby opening up an entirely new segment for the others to play a catch-up game.
The ‘others’ have been relentless in jumping onto the ever expanding tablet bandwagon. Tablets based on the Google Android OS have been pouring in almost every day, though the fact is Apple still has managed to sell more tablet PCs than all other competing tablets put together. Sure we would like to see more competition in the market, though. As of now, that is sorely missed.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
