Pre-order for the Eee Pad Slider tablet from Asus has commenced in the US with prices starting at $479. At this price, the Slider (which includes an integrated slide out keyboard) is $80 more expensive compared to its sibling, the Eee Pad Transformer, but it is $20 cheaper than the base version of the Apple iPad2.
The Slider has been dogged with a few issues that forced Asus to keep pushing back the official launch. The Slider was first showcased at the CES event in January and the company is yet to come up with an official launch date. Its stable mate, the Transformer, is already available in the market. Needless to say, the Slider with its unique form factor had stoked a lot of consumer attention. Before you jump with joy, however, here is the dampener; the Amazon pre-order page has since been pulled off air after a brief appearance.
The price mentioned for the 16 GB version has been $479, while the same with twice the storage will cost $579.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
