The TouchPad is not the only tablet to have its price revised. The Asus Eee Pad Transformer’s price has also been sweetened to $350. That’s the price listed at the Walmart website for the Eee Pad Transformer tablet with 16 GB onboard memory. This is $50 lower than its $400 retail price. There are, however, other retailers who have yet to alter the price to $470 from $500 for the 32 GB variant of the gadget.
However, there is no official word out yet to explain the price reduction, though it is speculated that the company is coming up with the Transformer 2 very soon. In fact, the next gen Transformer could be ready for a market stint as early as next month, and a $50 price cut may have been aimed at clearing up old stocks.
The first generation Transformer has been the best selling Android tablet so far and has recently been upgraded to the latest Android 3.2. The original tablet was based on NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 platform and came installed with Android 3.1, while its successor is expected to be based on the quad-core Tegra 3 platform and run Android Ice Cream Sandwich, though it is yet to be confirmed. No wonder online stocks have already been sold out, though fresh shipments are expected to arrive soon.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
