If Sprint is the exclusive carrier partner of the 4G capable HTC Flyer hence re-badged as the EVO View 4G, Best Buy has joined the party by becoming the exclusive retail partner of the Wi-Fi only version.
“Over the past few months we’ve seen several new tablets enter the market, and we’re especially excited to partner with HTC to bring the Wi-Fi version of the HTC Flyer to our customers as a national retail launch exclusive,” said Scott Anderson who is in charge of merchandising for Best Buy Mobile. “We have worked hard to bring a large assortment of great tablets to Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile stores, and the HTC Flyer is a great example of that effort.”
While there are obvious advantages with 4G connectivity, there are also reasons to look forward to a Wi-Fi only version. This way manufacturers can offer consumers the Wi-Fi only sets that are free of monthly payment issues or carrier contract obligations. Of course, there is also the price advantage that Wi-Fi only sets enjoy and though neither HTC nor Best Buy have revealed what the 7 inch tablet will cost, let’s just hope they are more affordable. There is no information either about specific launch details except that the tablet will be launched in spring.
“Best Buy offers a number of the hottest products on the market, including the all-new 4G LTE HTC ThunderBolt™and now the Wi-Fi version of the groundbreaking HTC Flyer, which brings the acclaimed HTC Sense experience to a tablet for the first time,” said Jason Mackenzie, president of HTC Americas of the tablet’s launch with Best Buy. “Like all HTC Sense products, the HTC Flyer was inspired by our customers, and offers the most simple and natural experience available on a tablet.”

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
