If you are looking for a cute little tablet device for your bundle of joy, the Vinci Tab II can fit the bill. While almost all tablet devices for kids come with a 7 inch display, this one offers a smaller 5 inch of screen. The reduction in screen size has made the Vinci Tab II a lot cheaper, with prices starting at $169, down from the $199 that its bigger cousin costs.
The tablet is powered by a 1.2 GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor and boasts of 8 GB of internal memory along with a battery that is good for 4 hours of operation. The tablet also includes a microSD card slot which allows for up to 32 GB of more storage. A front facing camera is part of the package too, as is a 3 megapixel unit at the rear, while the display has a 800 x 480 pixel resolution. It should be enough to keep young minds enthralled.
As with all tablets aimed at kids, there is a protective casing that makes the tablet kid-safe, while a customized kid-friendly version of Android runs the show. The tablet also offers a “parent mode” which allows the tablet to be used as a normal Android tablet when not being used by kids. All kid specific restrictions cease to exist when the “parent mode” is active.
Pre-orders for the tablet can be placed at the company site here.
