We wrote a piece earlier on today about how the Blackberry Playbook is doomed and being discontinued. The essence of this situation is at an investors meeting some analysts were mentioning the Blackberry Playbook is discontinued. RIM then countered and said this was nothing but pure fiction, or is it? Today Ryan Bidan the executive in charge of the Blackberry Playbook has left RIM to work for Samsung.
Ryan Bidan was the Senior Product Manager for the Playbook tablet since late 2008. He just updated his LinkedIN profile to change his job title to The Director of Product Marketing for the North American division of Samsung Electronics Corp. He will be working on the Samsung Tablet product line, which seems to be quite successful.
With the spearhead of the Playbook jumping ship and many executives publicly stating that the Playbook project is dead in the water, this is just another nail in the coffin.
