While we have been always thinking the ‘quietly brilliant’ HTC has been working on the Flyer tablet running the Android Honeycomb, what came as a surprise is a recent revelation that the Taiwan based manufacturer of smartphones has also been quietly working on a 7 inch tablet device as well. Still more surprise, the yet to be named tablet will be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
The revelation was made in a Chinese newspaper, Economic Daily which also added that the tablet is likely to be released in late first quarter 2011. So its not going to be before March end that we will get to see the real thing, of course if this is real in the first place and not just rumors. Also, the new tablet is expected to come with a new version of the HTC Sense UI.
More on this is awaited, so keep watching. The Mobile World Congress is unfolding next week and let’s just hope we have more on this then.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
