Things are progressing pretty fast on the tablet scene. The first few months of this year have seen a flurry of tablet launches already. Then an equal number of tablets have been announced or embroiled in rumors and speculation. Take for instance the Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim. It was only at the MCW event held in February that the IDEOS S7 Slim first made its world debut. In just about another month, the IDEOS S7 Slim was seen at the FCC, which is indicative of a launch in the US anytime soon.
Now the FCC reports isn’t revealing a whole lot of details of which we aren’t already aware. The tablet will be compatible with GSM/EDGE 850, 1900 bands, as well as WCDMA bands II and V. This indicates that the tablet will eventually enter markets riding on AT&T’s network. However, the biggest advantage with the IDEOS S7 Slim is likely to be its price, which at less than $300 will surely make it an attractive option for Android tablet fans.
These apart, we already know the IDEOS S7 Slim comes with a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and includes the now almost standard tablet features such as integrated cameras at the front and rear of the device, a microSD card slot, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, along with a HDMI out port as well. Plus, there also is a dock interface, the real purpose of which is still to be revealed. A 7 inch 800×480 pixel capacitive touch screen makes up the front of the tablet while the default operating system is Android 2.2 Froyo. Unfortunately, there is no word yet about the upgrade to Android Honeycomb, if at all it is in the works in the first place.
Also, a unique aspect with the IDEOS S7 Slim is that the entire back panel of the tablet is user replaceable, which means the user will be able to replace the battery or the access the SIM slot at will. Something that’s akin to smartphones.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
