The Mobile World Congress is not too far off, but Huawei thought it wise to reveal the new S7 tablet beforehand. If you are having trouble recollecting, the S7 forms the budget tablet range from the premier Chinese company, though the latest versions seems to have been slimmed out considerably to give it that lean mean look. Not a bad thing considering the earlier version was a bit on the heavier side which made it a tad uncomfortable holding on to it for extended periods of time. Not surprisingly, the tablet has also been named appropriately – S7 Slim.
However, looks-wise, the S7 Slim maintains some amount of similarity with its predecessor. Except for a few cosmetic changes such as the location of the keys which now are housed along the right bezel (which used to be along the left on the S7). Similarly, the front facing webcam has been shifted from the right to the left top margin. Also, optical finger navigation key which was a distinguishing feature of the earlier S7 tablet also seems to have been removed.
However, there are not many details available of the interior of the S7 Slim. A Qualcomm Snapdragon processor did duty on the S7 tablet and it would be interesting to see what the new Slim version would pack in. Or whether the 7 inch display that earlier had a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels would be enhanced for a better look and feel. Or what version of the Android operating system the new S7 Slim would come pre-installed with. Just one more reason to look forward to the 2011 edition of MCW.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
