A Best Buy page has emerged almost out of nowhere and it has some good and bad news. Then there is lot’s of confusion as well. To begin with the not so good part of the story, the Motorola XOOM will cost a whooping $1200. That’s the cost of a single unit of the first Honeycomb tablet and not a discounted price for picking up more than one unit of the tablet. This when many considered a $800 price tag is a bit too exorbitant.
Next, coming to the good part of the story – the tablet will be up for pre-order as early as Thursday itself. This comes as a surprise as the XOOM is expected to make its debut towards the end of this month.
However, while a Thursday date for the pre-order phase to begin is welcome, the price bit is indeed baffling. Chances are that there has been a mistake somewhere. But then, if that is not the case and the $1200 price tag is for the unlocked version of the XOOM, then the first Honeycomb tablet will have to pack in a lot of honey to make sure it survives in the market. There has been no word from Motorola as yet to clear up the thing.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
