Almost all of Amazon’s television commercials tend to target the iPad in one respect or another. Most of their television spots tend to show people outdoors reading on their Kindles. The latest ad’s premise is showing that all 3 Kindles combined are still cheaper than the Apple iPad.
Amazon tends to be the only company who makes e-reader commercials targeting a North American audience. Kobo has never done a dedicated spot, and Barnes and Noble tends not to do them at all. Sony does Japan only exclusives on some of their tablets and e-readers, but none in the West. It is refreshing to see more of these spots hit the airwaves and proves e-readers are here to stay.
