The Samsung Galaxy Tab is the latest entrant to the million tablets club that was till now playing host to only the Apple’s iPad, which also holds the unique distinction of being the founder member of the prestigious club. Apart being the first to reach the landmark, the Apple iPad though still remains unbeaten on one count. It had raced to the million mark in less than a month – 28 days to be precise – though the Galaxy Tab made it there in a full 2 months. Region wise sales break up reveal Europe has the largest comsunption rate of the tablet, having lapped up 400,000 units followed with 300,000 units sold in North America. Asia came in at third with 100,000 units sold.
However, Samsung is undeterred and has gone on to revise its sales target for the year to 1.5 million units which again seems perfectly achieveable now that a million units has already found buyers. With holiday drawing closer and Christmas round the corner, there is no reason the 1.5 million mark is not reachable. This when everyone was concerned about the high price tag of the tablet.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
