Research in Motion has successfully lobbied Taiwan-based Quanta to be their exclusive manufacturer of their new Tablet PC.
Not only will the Tablet dubbed “BlackPad” come with Wi-Fi and 3G, but it will also have pairing software for your Blackberry Smartphone. The price point has been established around $499 and Quanta will start shipping orders, according to Digitimes, in September. Their initial shipments will entail two million units in 2010 and eight million units in 2011.
Blackpad seems to be the name they are going with for the product launch. Just last month we reported that RIM purchased the domain name www.blackpad.com
