Refurbished iPads for sale

September 19, 2010 By Sovan Mandal 1 Comment

Refurbished iPads on sale now

Apple has put refurbished iPads on sale that come with a price advantage. The price rebate isn’t something to celebrate, as it’s only $50 less than the regular factory sealed iPads. There are no compromises though. Everything else remains the same, such as the same one year warranty cover that applies to the new iPads as well as the AppleCare Protection Plan if you would like to opt for it. Both of this should assure you the iPads even with a refurbished tag attached are just as good as new one.

Actually the refurbished iPads are second hand devices that buyers returned before the 30 day return period. These have now been subsequently tested for compliance with the same quality standards that apply to their new counterparts. They have been sparingly used and are just as good as new, with the only difference being that they are second hand devices. In that sense, the $50 price reduction might seem a bit too small.

In any case, its the Wi-Fi only models that are currently available with the 3Gs being already ‘out of stock’. Price starts at $449 for the 16 GB Wi-Fi version while for the 32 GB and 64 GB models, price has been fixed at $549 and $649 respectively.

The 3G enabled iPads too have the $50 price benefit with prices for the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB models being $579, $679, and $779 respectively.

Apple insisted they don’t have an unending supply of second hand iPads which means one will have to hurry to make the best use of the $50 price rebate.

In the meantime, it was only recently that the iPad’s shipping times improved to 24 hours, down from the several days that it would have taken earlier. Best Buy announced they would start stocking the iPads in all its outlets throughout the US from September 26 with Target being the next in line to retail the iPads.

I am not sure if the $50.00 savings is a large enough savings to buy a refurbished Ipad .I think people will continue to pay full price with such a small difference.
