Come August 3rd and the sleek and slim Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will attain even more teeth to bite into rival tablets’ market share. That’s when the TouchWiz UX on the 10 inch Galaxy Tab will be getting a major update in the form of a fully customizable TouchWiz UX, Live Panel, and Mini-Apps. Plus the Samsung Media Hub will be seen sporting a new redesigned interface after the update.
These apart, the Galaxy Tab will also have apps such as Amazon Cloud Player, Amazon’s Kindle, and Words with Friends apps, along with a few apps for enterprise application.
However, what comes as a surprise is that Samsung has even gone to the extent to celebrate the occasion of its Galaxy Tab 10.1 getting an update. The event has been planned on the 3rd of August at the Samsung Experience center at Columbus Circle in New York. There will be live demonstration of the new TouchWiz for the Galaxy Tab for the press only during the first half, and then the doors will be opened to the general public from 1 PM to 6 PM.
Those who live in the area are absolutely welcome to the event. They can bring along their Galaxy Tabs. Apart from getting a first hand feel of the new update, Galaxy Tab owners will also be able to side load the software update on their tablets. There is a warning though; side loading will erase all pre-stored data in the Galaxy Tab. The same update via OTA will be released a few days later.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
