The seven inch version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, which was the companies very first offering is getting an official Android update soon. The update is not the elusive Honeycomb update, which the tablet may NEVER see, but the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update.
People always fiending for the latest updates, but Android 2.3 does not even really do much for the Samsung Galaxy Tab based on its hardware. It will improve the UI and make copy and paste a bit easier but that’s it.
The update will not be pushed over the air but you will have to use exclusive Samsung PC software named Kies.
Right now lucky customers in Italy have had already have this update in their hands. So this means if you do not want to use the proprietary Samsung software and you want to manually update it yourself, it is now a possibility. If you feel like you want to get your advanced Android on, you can get everything via the links below.
