Great news for the people wishing they had an Adam in their hands as soon as possible! Notion Ink has confirmed that pre-orders for their Adam Tablet will begin at the beginning of December.

Notion Ink has said in a statement today that the Adam will begin to ship as early as Christmas and if they do not meet that deadline they said they will have finished products to debut at CES in early January.

We have confirmed reports in terms of the final pricing for the Notion Ink Adam, from its CEO Rohan Shravan. It seems that four versions of Adam will be launched: each will use NVIDIA’s Tegra 2, but there will be Pixel Qi and LCD models and a choice of WiFi-only or WiFi and 3G. The LCD version will cost $399 for the WiFi-only and $449 for the WIFI and 3G model, while the Pixel Qi version will cost $449 for the WiFi-only and $498 for the 3G model.

The FCC has approved the Notion Ink Adam charging adapter and have claimed that the Adam will hit most countries either in December or January.

Other Notion Ink News

Notion Ink has picked a winner for their Logo contest which we reported on a few weeks ago, they are just waiting for the signed agreements to be sent back to them, mainly just signing their rights away for a free Adam Tablet.

Notion Inks EAP registrations have been closed, we reported on this also a few weeks ago. The Early Access Developer program was a big hit for people who are going to be making the first exclusive Android Applications for the Adam. They claimed to have had over 68,000 entries and around 70 have been selected for the program. They will soon receive a custom SDK from Notion Ink to begin work on their applications.

Notion Ink has also confirmed that Google Android 2.2 will be the operating system that will be in the final shipping units. Do not despair if you are hoping for a Gingerbread or future updates, they will be compatible.

If you are worried about battery life in your Adam, Notion Ink has said the device will easily last about 15 hours of normal every day tasks. They said, it can quickly deplete in about 6 hours if you do the following;

* Play 1080P continuously with full brightness and at full volume (displayed as 1024 on Adam and not via HDMI to TV) (no idle time) (Adam has BIG speakers)
* Play YouTube Flash videos on Wi-Fi or 3G network (no idle time)
* Use Streaming 3D maps on 3G network with GPS
* Record HD Video and stream it over the Wi-fi networks
* Play an augmented reality 3D game with camera input over the network (wi-fi of 3G)
