Free Comic Book Day is Saturday May the 7th and there are over 50 different comics that will be available at your local shop. The stores actually have to pay for the comics and extra staff, so in most cases you can only pickup a few issues. This year there are some excellent freebies such as the first issue of the new Archie series and Marvels kickoff of the Civil War 2. What I like about the selection this year is that it is there is a severe lack of comics featuring caped super heroes. There are more all-ages titles and more books featuring female protagonists.
