Amazon is now delivering magazines using their enhance typesetting engine called KFX on their iOS e-reading app. Read your favorite magazines in a new mobile-friendly format. Initial titles include Food Network, Cosmopolitan, Life & Style, Us Weekly, and 15 others.
Amazon introduced Enhanced Typesetting in August 2015 on the Kindle Voyage and gradually added support for other devices. Books and magazines that are supported for Enhanced Typesetting also get a myriad of cool features, such as;
- Typography — Drop caps, hyphenation, smoother word spacing, kerning and ligatures.
- Layout features — Higher-quality images, font alignment and table formatting.
- Reading experience — Page-Flip to navigate within a book while reading and progressive download, so customers can start reading a book while it is still downloading.
Amazon also added the ability to return ebooks from Kindle Unlimited and Prime reading. A book can be returned by long pressing on a book cover from the bookshelf interface and choosing the “Return book” option.
