E-Books and e-Readers are growing in the Netherlands and this a boon for the entire digital publishing industry. In April, May and June e-book sales increased by 10% and e-book subscription services grew by a staggering 430% compared to the second quarter last year. This is attributed to Kobo Plus, which has been gaining traction.

88.3% of the titles in the bestseller list have received the digital treatment, which is a small increase of 1.6%. The number of e-readers has increased by 8.1%. Two million people own an e-reader, whereas the number of smartphones and tablets remained stable.
