As industry predictions for the future of digital publishing came out at the end of last year, there seemed to be a division as to where the ePub format may be headed. While some experts site that ePub will see an even wider adoption and more publishers and platforms will begin publishing content in that file format, especially in terms of the unique needs of some foreign languages in this climate of globalization, others felt like ePub was going to fade away in light of the growing adoption of tablet reading.
At Digital Book World, GoodeReader spoke with two executives from SPi Global about the potential for ePub. John Wheeler, Senior Vice President for Strategy & Emerging Technologies, and Gregory Sullivan, Senior Vice President for Global Sales, explained some of the shift that indicates the ePub may be the most viable option for digital publishing for the near future.
