E-Reader displays won’t be the same again if what ITRI has come up with can be considered an indication of the things to come in the field of display technology. In fact, the Taiwan based company is already claiming their new 6-inch flexible display will be seen lending grace to e-reader soon enough. ITRI is also claiming the AMOLED display will feature an ‘unbreakable’ construction in spite of it being just a mm thick. And as for its flexibility, the AMOLED display will have a folding radius of 5 cm along with 150 nits of brightness.
While there can’t be any doubts of what is being claimed of the new flexible display that’s also known as the FlexUPD does look a bit inflated at the moment, the biggest challenge before manufacturers will be to not only come up with what is being claimed but also to do it at an affordable price range. And if that happens, well, it will be nothing short of a new revolution in display technology.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
