The new Hunger Games novel Sunrise on the Reaping has broken into the top five on Amazon and Barnes & Noble, ahead of its release date of March 18th. The hardcover has already been released if you have not pre-ordered it yet. Reaping is one of the most anticipated book releases of 2025. It’s been on Amazon’s best-seller list for most of the year and discounted on Amazon.

The new Suzanne Collins book might be one of the most critical Hunger Games books yet. All of her other books have already been made into movies. Sunrise on the Reaping will be adapted into a film in 2026. So, we won’t have to wait much longer, but hopefully, it’s better than a Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

If you’d prefer to listen to the new Hunger Games novel, you’ll be happy to know that the audiobook will be releasing simultaneously wherever audiobooks are sold. The audio edition is narrated by Jefferson White, best known for his role on Yellowstone, where he played Jimmy Hudstrom.

Whats the book about?

According to its official synopsis, “Sunrise on the Reaping” takes place just before the 50th annual Hunger Games when twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes in honor of the milestone.

“Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves,” the synopsis reads. “When Haymitch’s name is called, he can feel all his dreams break. He’s torn from his family and his love, shuttled to the Capitol with the three other District 12 tributes: a young friend who’s nearly a sister to him, a compulsive oddsmaker, and the most stuck-up girl in town. Haymitch understands he’s been set up to fail as the Games begin. But there’s something in him that wants to fight . . . and have that fight reverberate far beyond the deadly arena.”
