The second generation Amazon Kindle Oasis is a fairly good e-reader, but the official cases have been fraught with consumer ire. Last month public pressure has prompted Amazon to slash the prices of the Kindle Oasis 2 covers. The company discounted the fabric covers by $15 the final cost was $29.99. The Premium Leather Standing Covers used to be $59.99 and are were retailing for $39.99. It looks like negative reviews for these products continued to pour over the course of the past three weeks. Amazon has now flagged the cases as unavailable and there is no date in which they will be back in stock. It is very likely that Amazon is going back to the drawing board and developing new cases.
It is important to note that the cases are only available for the main Amazon US website, they are still available in many countries, including Canada. Unfortunately the cases outside the US are not discounted and you are paying the old price for them.
