Barnes and Noble has issued a new firmware update for their wildly successful touchscreen e-ink based e-reader. The new update is being pushed via WI-FI over the course of the next three days and promises a number of enhancements.
The new update will allow you to connect up to WI-FI Hotspots easier than before and in most cases will automatically connect to them when you are in range. The touchscreen has undergone a revision and will be more responsive. Finally the battery life meter has become more accurate and will display how much juice you have left with pin-point precision.
If you simply cannot wait for the pushed update to your device, you can endeavor to manually download it. The full file is being offered here. Keep in mind the update is roughly 120 MB, so it might take some time.
