Amazon has just pushed out a new firmware update for the Kindle that allows you to make multiple highlights with fewer clicks by turning off the highlight menu from Reading Settings. This is a boon for users who want to make a bunch of highlights at once.
The 5.9.5 update is being pushed out via WIFI over the course of the next week. Once it is installed you can access the new highlight system by going to Settings/Reading Options/Highlights and About This Book/ Highlight Menu. If you download the update manually from the Amazon firmware site, you still need to connect your e-reader via WIFI, since Amazon is pushing an additional file to make the new system work properly.
