Polaroid, the camera company, is testing the waters with a new tablet/e-reader hybrid to debut at CES next week. The company is billing this new Android 2.3 device as a dedicated e-reader and has formed a partnership with Kobo to be the app of choice to ship with the device. Staying true to the company’s roots, they are adding two cameras on the front and back.
The one thing that makes this unit look interesting is the Android experience. Instead of just shipping it with a stock operating system, they have implemented their own GUI to make it their own.
There is little in the way of specs right now, but we do know it is a 7 inch tablet with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. Obviously, we can’t wait to get our hands on the unit at CES next week, so stay tuned!
